Everyone is welcome!
Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit:
Starting March 19th through March 27th, St. Agnes Church will display an exhibition of 12 Eucharistic Miracles. This exhibit is part of the research and reporting done by Blessed Carlo Acutis, a young man from Italy, who died at the age of 15 in 2006. In 2018 he was declared Venerable by Pope Francis and became Blessed in October 2020, after a miracle was approved for his beatification.
Carlo was born in 1991. He was an ordinary teenager enjoying the typical
teenage activities of soccer, riding his bicycle, skiing and taking care of his
pets, four dogs, two cats and several goldfish. He also had an extraordinary talent for technology and a deep love for God. After making his First Communion, Carlo went to daily Mass, prayed the rosary, read Scripture and went weekly to Confession. He had an outgoing personality and a friendly approach which worked well with his strong desire to evangelize. He understood people and compassionately knew how to attract people with acts of charity. Often he would collect food, blankets and sleeping bags for the homeless in Milan, Italy. He would also defend students in his school who were being bullied and befriend children whose parents were going through a divorce. He was a sincere young man who happily lived as an authentic Christian.
Besides his outgoing personality, Carlo had an amazing skill with computers. He had fun with computers, but also dedicated most of his computer time to something more serious. In 2002, he decided to develop a virtual exhibition on Eucharistic Miracles. He wanted to offer people tangible evidence for their faith. He visited many of these special sites, photographing and cataloging them. Four years later, he had developed a website to display his results. This website was the beginning of the Eucharistic Miracles of the World Exhibition, which has toured five continents and has been shown in thousands of churches. In October 2006, Carlo was hospitalized with acute leukemia. He died on October 12, 2006.
St. Agnes is privileged to honor Blessed Carlo Acutis' work to make known the existence of Eucharistic Miracles by borrowing the 12-site exhibit from St. Thomas More Church in Indianapolis. The exhibit, containing posters with pictures and printed material, will be displayed for viewing upstairs in the church, in the area right behind the organ. Please take the opportunity, before or after the weekend Masses, to appreciate the Eucharist and our extraordinary Catholic Faith in a new and deeper way.
