HANDCRAFTED CHRISTMAS GIFTS AND DECORATIONS
The Guild expanded their HANDCRAFTED DECORATIONS to include items for gift wrapping including bows, gift bags, tree and gift embellishments. New this year we are adding decorated arrangements for counter tops, tables and porches, bracelets, painted barn boards, candle cozies, decorated gift bags, and more. You won’t be able to find these items anywhere but at the St. Agnes bazaar. Return often to see updates as we continue to complete our crafting assortment.
SILENT AUCTION DECORATED GIFT BASKETS AND CHRISTMAS TREES
Our themed GIFT BASKETS come in a variety of sizes and a wide range of values. The baskets are suitable to put directly under the tree as a gift, with no additional work of wrapping, or to use as a hostess gift at your holiday gatherings. Our creative parishioners always have great ideas for a theme and fill the baskets with wonderful gifts. Basket themes have included food items, such as chocolate candy, coffee, cocoa, tea, wine, and fireside holiday snacks. Other themes have included TV or movie characters, IU and Purdue spirit, holiday décor, welcome new baby, gardening, crafts, tools, cooking, baking and other hobby interests.
Our exceptional TABLETEOP CHRISTMAS TREES are great decorating pieces for people with small spaces, elderly in assisted living, offices, children’s and dorm rooms, hearth or mantle décor or that niche where you want to add some holiday spirit. Bidding closes at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 2, and highest bidders will be notified by phone. We will also have a buy-now price on all items. Free baskets to fill or trees to decorate for the silent auction will be distributed to parishioners after all the masses on the weekend of September 14-15, on a first-come basis. We will have samples of creative ideas you can use for your basket or tree, but feel free to use your imagination and surprise us with a new idea. You may also use your own tree, basket or an attractive container that fits with your theme.
There will be a wide variety of unique Christmas gifts including personal items and home décor, for those on your Christmas list. You will enjoy browsing the unique gift offerings and get a jumpstart in finding the perfect gift in a wide range of prices. A great place for young children to shop for their family.

RAFFLE OF FULL-SIZE QUILT
This year's quilt is a first for our group of quilters. In past years, we have purchased a quilt top, but this year Toni Page, Mary Jo McClintic and Dolores Francis, with some help from Brenda Green and Paula Lahan, sewed a wide variety of materials into a colorful quilt in a Spool pattern. Using scraps of their own as well as some donated material, they have created a joyful feast for the eyes. In some ways, this quilt might stand as a symbol for achieving peace. It has many small blocks, some of which look as though they would not go with any others. Yet, put them all together with loving stitches, and the result is beautiful. The many small pieces (some are just 1” squares) join together and, while retaining their individual characteristics, blend with the others to make a pleasing whole.
Quilters this year have included Donna Braas, Janet Doody, Dolores Francis, Joann Garraux, Mary Jo McClintic and Toni Page.
(Note: The Quilt Raffle is a charity-gaming exempt event approved by the Indiana Gaming Commission. No one under 18 years of age may purchase or sell a ticket, nor win the raffle prize or accept it on behalf of another person. House rules for the raffle will be posted at the bazaar.)
HOMEMADE FROM OUR KITCHEN TO YOURS
Our parish bakers will continue selling your favorite homemade baked goods -- cookies, pies, cakes and other delicious treats, homemade canned specialties, and tins of fudge. Our parishioners and guild members continue to work to make this the most visited part of the Bazaar. Guild member Shirley Boardman has donated over 50 pies yearly for 16 years and they sell out quickly - so don’t come late. Flavors include apple, cherry, peach, pecan, pumpkin, and Derby. Often visitors return yearly for their favorite from our many homemade goodies.
STAINED GLASS
This year’s selection includes new offerings and sizes. As always, they are unique in design and craftsmanship.
WOOD CRAFTS
Beautifully crafted wood designs including religious items, deer, eagles, wolves, hummingbirds, and puzzles.
WREATHS
Wreaths come in a variety of designs, colors and holiday themes. These sell out quickly, so come early to pick the best one to fit your holiday décor. For the 2024 Bazaar, we have new designs and an assortment of smaller wreaths for home interiors.
ST. AGNES YOUTH GROUP BOUTIQUE
Selling gently used, upscale items, including vintage and formal clothing, shoes and accessories, jewelry, books, games, signage, sports equipment, small appliances, glassware and small furniture. Help our young people earn funds for their projects and travels and faith formation activities, mission and community outreach services to help the poor and for upkeep of the Youth Barn.
ST. AGNES PARISHIONERS are invited to donate items for sale at the bazaar, especially hand-made items and crafts, themed gifts basked or decorated trees, cookies and baked goods, home-canned food, and boutique items (listed above) for the Youth Group.
